The reverse of the Polish coins reminds me of mid-19th century coins.

Nice set of foreign coins @Shrews1994 ! Coincidentally, yesterday I began putting together a 3-ring binder with 2x2 coin holder pages to start compiling my foreign coin collection. To that end, I dug up my old home made Boy Scout International Coin Album from when I was 12 (back in 1969), and was amazed at some of the old coins I had in that album which I presented to earn my merit badge. Most of these were coins I got from my father who had traveled to some of these countries, the rest we got from friends. I started adding in the foreign coins I have found recently from CRH, Coinstars, and tellers. It was great to rediscover my old childhood coins, and I am reminded for the thousandth time how much I appreciate my Dad for getting me involved in Scouting and Coin Collecting so many years ago. Here’s a few pictures from the new album.

That particular British 20-pence has long been one of my favorite modern coin designs.

The 1982-2001 bimetallic (KM111 type) Italian 500-lire pieces are another.

But there are hundreds if not thousands of great looking coin types.

World coins are fascinating and fun.

Quite "classical" indeed; the obverses are a little different these days but the reverses indicating the face value still look like those. Oddly enough, the lowest denominations I find more appealing, with the number of leaves corresponding to the value. And the 2 zł and 5 zł coins have a modern appearance too ...

I couldn’t resist posting a few pictures from my Boy Scout album, just the US coins. I did not appreciate all the silver when I put this together back in the day! 1957 was my birth year. Note the “poor boy” flips I made with scraps of plastic and tape, stapled to the page, lol! It was fun finding this album. Looks like I compiled it in 1968 judging by the ‘68 Lincoln.

Thanks for the nostalgia. I'm eight years younger than you, but can remember putting together displays like that, "back in the day". :)
