Might try learning geography. The cactus ( which has very small fingers ~ typical for the area) is pointing towards the grand canyon, so it is pointing towards UTAH or possibly NEVADA, Not California! ....

I posted the pic looking at the cactus as facing West from Arizona, I never realized there was a direction intended for the coin. How do you know which direction it's facing if I may ask? As far as my geography, in 1966 my 5th grade male teacher would pull down either a blank map of the U.S. OR a blank map of the world every Thursday. Each kid had to get up in front of the room and be timed and name as many States or Countries we could in 1 minute. 45 states or 85 countries in 1 minute got you a 15 cent Baskin and Robbins single dip ice cream cone. The teacher piled us into his VW beetle and he took us and paid for it too every Friday at lunch. I think my geography is better than 90% of folks. Remember British Honduras by any chance?

Well , the grand Canyon national Park which the coin commemorates is entirely in Arizona and goes east to west at a fairly consistent level, it then moves into lake Meade and Hoover dam, both of which touches both Nevada and Arizona. Then the Colorado river from the dam area turns south and separates Az and California. The coin shows the Grand Canyon ( looks like the North rim to me ~ most popular),

If it pointing towards the N, its pointing at AZ, toward NW Nev. ,E New Mexico, Only if pointing to the southwest lower than HWY 40 would it hit the first point of California. Since it is an artists interpretation, I suspect the sun was added for 'design' and is not directly west. I am a part time resident in Flagstaff so I get to see the area often.

Yes I remember British Honduras, as if your listed age is correct, I am older ( but do not look my age :) We should be careful not to put any political aspects into our posts due to rules. Have a nice day. Jim
