I assume these are particular die varieties to which you refer with "obverse 12" and "reverse M". Is there an online source where one might learn more of this esoteric knowledge?

Arrived today. Sorry for the quickly taken, less than ideal photos. This is nice in hand and any mark or spots you see in photos are on the case. Canada-1986-1-dollar-2.jpg Canada-1986-1-dollar-1.jpg

Love this coin! Got one last year, Santa brought it for my 2 year old. He loves trains.

I also grew up loving trains and am always on the lookout for nice coins with trains on them (maybe a nice topic for another thread)

That BC train is great! I picked up this 1938 Brazil 200 reis a few weeks ago, chose it just because of the locomotive. Now I need to find one in slightly better condition. 1938 BR 200 r obv.JPG 1938 BR 200 r rev.JPG

I picked these both up last night. Both of them are in NGC holders graded AU Details but I like the look of them. Heritage had the Prussian piece attributed wrong. That makes about a $200 difference in book price in my favor.

I had an Edward I penny, but parted with it on here due to getting this one for much less than my old one.

Well here is a really surprising rarity. At a local auction I had my arm twisted into buying a jar of old coins for £3 as no one else was bidding, despite the room being full of dealers. In the grime at the bottom of the jar I found this - Greenland 1863 6 Skilling from A Gibbs & Sons. When I started looking it up I was somewhat startled at the value - have a look for yourself if you enjoy a search!
