Some of the sensitive newbies that go away in a huff,
(Don't go away in a huff. Go away in a minute and a huff.)
Don't realize that when someone writes a great post, it is applauded.
And so, the reverse is also true. No one is playing favorites.
If the post is good, it's good. Informative, new, eye opening.
And when a post is bad, etc. They mistakenly believe they are being picked on.

It's not so much that such people should have thick skin, but that they shouldn't have such ridiculously thin skin to the point they lose it when told something they don't want to hear. Unfortunately, this simply reality has played and continues to play itself out over and over again, often on a daily basis.

If only more would worry more about what they do instead of about what others do or think, perhaps this forum would be the better for it. After all, there's absolutely nothing stopping you or anyone else from stepping up and playing the part. If you see an instance where a newbie is being treated unfairly, wouldn't it be wiser to show them the kindness or patience you feel they deserve and/or impart said knowledge instead of repeatedly telling others how they should act/behave? We change more by doing than by preaching or demanding.

We've a number of members who just love to do just that - preach - about how others should be treated or handled, yet these same members are very rarely found actually trying to help the very people they claim to care so deeply about. There's a very good reason why the same members always trying to answer such questions are also the ones generally targeted by such criticisms, yet very few seemingly make the obvious connection. Maybe, just maybe, if more placed their money where their mouths are, perhaps this wouldn't be such an issue and those regularly trying to help wouldn't grow so frustrated over the near endless nonsense...

I'm confused as to what you might consider an "Informative, new, eye opening" post, that's applauded. Might this be an example of the reverse, where you may be "a sensitive newby that goes away in a huff"?

Well, anyway, I believe your mood description is accurate!

IT'S APPARENT THAT YOU'RE EASILY CONFUSED, AS I QUOTED YOUR POST DERIDING POOR COMMUNICATIONS, WHICH RIDICULES OTHERS, IN A TIRADE AS INITIATED BY THE O.P. OF THIS THREAD. I ASKED YOU: "Might this (i.e. YOUR POST) be an example of the reverse (AS YOU STATED IN YOUR POST), where you may be "a sensitive newby that goes away in a huff"?

I apologize for your confusion, that I hope has now been clarified.

As a relative "newby" yourself, with a self-stated SARCASTIC attitude, seeming contributing little in positive enlightenment, you might consider "lightening up", contributing educational posts, unlike yours and this.

    ENOUGH SAID!!

No your post was not clear at all. I didn't ridicule others. Perhaps it's your reading comprehension that is the problem.
But I have a way to fix that. Have a nice day.

The term "snowflake" as applied to people is misleading. I've met people that incessantly whine and complain about the most petty things, but wouldn't hesitate for a second to risk their lives to save yours. Perhaps it's a situational thing... we all have at least one, even if it hasn't happened, where we will be that fragile snowflake.

    'Snowflake' isn't about complaining.

The term 'Snowflake' is applied to people who have total meltdowns (1) over trivial social issues, and who consider themselves to be special (unique) when they're just pre-programmed mindless bots. See: Hysterics over micro-aggressions.

I don't consider myself original and I complain constantly.
    I'm not a 'Snowflake', I'm a whiner.

    NOTES
    --------------------------------------------------------------
1: Snowflake is a play on the 'melt'-down and also the mistaken idea that the person is original (no two snowflakes are alike) instead of a mindless political bot manufactured by the public school system.

I'll never understand this. Mayo is such a wonderful thing, they even named a clinic after it.
