This period I had $256 in "free" eBay bucks. Here's what I decided to buy. The flying eagle cents I am very excited about and will send in for grading. They were only $91 each! One is clashed with a Seated Liberty Half Dollar. The other has unique obverse and reverse die cracks (something I almost never ever see on f.e. cents)! The rest... they were just cheap, better dates (aside from the Walker), and easy to flip.

You're obviously better at eBay than I'll ever be.
My best purchase lately has been beat up Peace Dollars for $15.21 each.

Nice buy on the 1857 Cent. It has that cool, non messed with look.

Thanks. I normally don't get too terribly excited about the seated half clash, but I grade this one AU50 and they are tough to find in this condition. Especially problem free.

My question is, how does an FE get clashed SL half!?
And part 2, how do you know it's a half and not another value?

The 1858 looks like it was well on its way to becoming a cud.

    Nice group of coins.

There are a host of 1857 clashes. The theory is that someone was goofing off at the mint after hours pairing up seated coinage with flying eagle cents. There's also a very rare flying eagle cent clashed with $20 gold piece. @ldhair should be here any second to post a pic of his, which is likely worth $2000!

Here is the overlay of my clash although it is slightly off and out of perspective:

This one is more accurate. Image lifted from Bing, and looks to be from a reference book:

As an ex-Gov't working I'm inclined to believe the theory.

You see a lot of these on ebay but most are problem coins in lower grades. I agree with AU-50. 45 on a bad day.
The 1858 is really cool. Don't think I have seen one like it as well but I have forgotten much over the years. You should send Rick the images. Nice find.

This is the $20 gold piece clash. We will never know for sure what was going on at the mint in 1857 but it was crazy.
