    Thanks everyone, glad to hear! Based on your avatar Nicholas, I assume you have a few of these haha?

    Andres, I don't think I've seen a better centred strike for the reverse before, it's amazing! Somehow it's managed to capture Nike, nearly the entire bull, the head of the bull, and a good chunk of the legend too. Not a bad reverse either!

    Haha that explains a lot! Thanks for the links too, I enjoy reading up on these coins.
    I'm at work so haven't had time to read it yet but do you have photos of your entire collection Nicholas?

    In your expert opinions, does my coin look like Sambon 476 to you? It's hard to make out in the photo I provided but there appears to be a faint X behind the head on the obverse.

    If you can see the x in hand then yes. Otherwise it might be a new obverse variety. From the pic it looks like it could be a monogram and not a simple x, but maybe that is just the photo.

    I agree about the monogram, it looks as if there is another symbol next to it. You can see the X more clearly in the auction picture, as well as the hint of something next to it.

    Yup, that’s an x. The other stuff is die rust. So it is Sambon 476.

    Thanks, it's good to have an authority double-check my attribution!

    I like your Sambon 477 in the link above, nice toning. I wasn't aware of some of the other MFB varieties too, have added some to my list haha.

    If you are interested in the iconography the book dedicates the first 100 pages to it (and those are dense, double column 10pt font pages), so it isn’t just about the bronze coinage. The ebook and softcover are available from the publisher here:

    http://www.archaeopress.com/public/...asp?id={630D98AF-05CE-4C17-B530-6CD7DF4DA048}

    They offer 20% discounts from time to time.

    UGGH Tell me about it. I had a coin that I won on a Swiss auction. I live in Canada and the vendor got confused a put my correct address and postal code but then put in U.S.A. Sooo the only error was the part about USA. Okay my coin moved around visiting every post office in New York. it stayed long enough to apply for landed immigrant status. Was sent back to the Swiss twice and after some months I finally got it.Whew.
