1895-0 Morgan/ 1912 Indian Head

There is quite a story behind how I was able to purchase these coins. I’ll be glad to tell anyone the story through private message. It is a treasure of opportunity that was given to me because of my faith in Jesus Christ. I am convinced because of how I came to purchase these coins.

I would appreciate anyone’s opinion on what grading these coins could receive. An 1895-0 Morgan Dollar, and a 1912 gold 2 1/2 dollars Indian Head.

I'm just going by the pictures. The 1895-0 has a lower mintage. That is good. Although, it's not in good enough condition to be bigger $. I would say 250$ on the Morgan. 275-$325 for the gold Indian?
Both are nice coins though.

 

Both have the appearance of a previous cleaning and polishing.
I am somewhere around a details VF 20, F 12 value on the Morgan, given the correct weight and diameter.
The 1912 Indian I am not sure about. Melt value.

 

Use a lot of caution when buying raw Indian quarter eagles. They are a favorite of counterfeiters.

 

I see. Thanks. That helps me out better when considering to have a coin graded. I’m posting a pic of what I believe may be a 1921s Morgan that looks tooled...can anyone tell this? What makes me question whether it is a tooled coin, the inner-side of the rim surface fields is uniform around the rims diameter on both obverse/reverse. I’ve researched a little on Morgan planchets, but haven’t found any info on such a detail being that consistent. Also, it looks to be struck with a double eye...of course, it may be how I’m looking at it...

 

Doesn't really matter if it is tooled. Already junk silver from the harsh cleaning and polishing.

I do not see any tooling or metal alteration on the coin. I don't really understand your reasoning for why there seems to be tooling.

 

As my reply post above including the 1921s photos stated, on the obverse/reverse field space closest to the rim, there is a stop in the darker coloring of the fields all the way around the coin. Let me know if my description clarifies this for you. I also edited the post to make sure I clarified. It was a little vague at first. Sorry about that.

 

All I see is the "halo" around the devices and rim that is a result of polishing, buffing and/or improper cleaning.

 

I'm pretty certain it's a fake. Once I saw the online photos of fake coins submitted, it doesn't take long to see the counterfeit. Unfortunately, they both are. We live, we lose, and if we learn, we may not lose again
