Definitely fingerprints but that is an awesome coin for what you paid. Where did you find that for under $20?
Just got this little guy in the mail. Very flashy and I love the bright blue rims. Thankful for PCGS's database of TrueViews, I wouldn't have bought this coin with what looks like a reverse scratch above the "F" if I wasn't able to instantly see the same mark on about half of the proofs from this year and know it was just a small die crack. I wonder how early on the die cracked. This one is a cameo which (correct me if I'm wrong) were usually only the first so many struck back then right? PCGS has only graded about 40 in CAM or DCAM and about half have the crack so I wonder if it cracked after only striking a few dozen.\ Edit: Also just found the same mark on a lot of the business strikes from 1868.
I’ve been wanting and searching for one exactly like that for probably a couple of years now. It was an “insta-buy” when I saw it!
I think that nickel obverse design is awful, but with that finish the coin doesn’t look so bad. Nice pickups!
This was an eBay listing. I received a $25 PayPal credit because my wife signed up for this vitamin/protein shake promotion. The seller accepted my offer of $42. So with the shipping charge added, along with the credit, it ended up costing me $19.85. So, the actual price wasn’t less than $20. It just cost me less than $20. Heck, she was going to sign up for that promotion anyway, so I might as well have the free bucks!
Hi I got some new peace $ off the bay I wanted to share. I’m happy with them I think I didn’t pay too much they seam cheaper lately?
