1879 cc morgan dollar

    Is it true the value of this coin can go up to 49,000 ?. I purchased 4 set pieces of the 1879 cc, p, s, and o of a mint state of ms-69 i purchased them at a great price. I did not know they were worth alot, is that true

    top condition census for NGC as follows:
    1879P - MS67
    1879CC - MS66
    1879O - MS66 (pop1)
    1879S - MS68

    Im not liking the way this sounds. Hope he didnt get taken for a ride.

    Thats what it said in the picture. I wont know until i recieve them. I purchased them from china. Im hoping its not fake

    Real ones really are, fake ones really aren't.

    Well, im going to go out on a limb and say there is a 100 percent chance they are fake if you didnt purchase them from a reputable auction house. They are likely fake coins in fake holders. If you can, stop payment on your card. If not and you can eat the loss, you can post photos of the slabs in detail, and the coins also so folks can be on the lookout for fakes like them.

    Genuine US mint pieces can be valuable. Chinese made ones are not.

    As stated above, NGC has never certified those dates in that grade. Hoping is unfortunately not going to be enough in this case.

    Unfortunately they will be. There’s no Santa Claus in numismatic, whenever somewhere (especially China) is selling something worth a fortune for pennies on the dollar there’s a reason why

    I recommend you go online and buy the red book for morgan dollars and read every word of it before buying another coin, then go to a coin shop and buy a few common date coins, and study your book some more. Study your coins in detail. Never buy from china, never.
