Not minted like that. They have been terribly abused.

 

Unfortunately, both appear to be damaged rather heavily. Keep looking!

 

Unfortunately they're simply damaged, but now knowing this should be a help in the future and means not all was lost.

 

Darn it! I thought maybe because even the letters warped that it may have happened at mint

No.. you do not have a Clipped Planchet.. Both coins are damaged.
