To Slab or Not To Slab

Don't waste your money having the coins slabbed at either place. It will not add any extra value and you'll be paying postage both ways. Spend the money you save on bulk silver for an emergency OR buy a coin already graded MS-62 or 63 and sell your coin to pay for it.

That would make a great test for someone at the Baltimore coin show. Sell a raw beater $20 for $XXXX and see the best slab $20 you could get with the cash from the sale and the slab fee it would have cost you. :D

I'd sure like to see one of those gold-plated brass counterfeits that look as good as these genuine $20 coins. Do you have a link? I've never even heard of one of these replicas proving I'm out of the loop! :(

They don’t look as good as a genuine coin, of course. But the novice can easily not know what a genuine coin looks like. Happens all the time around here.

Take them to a coin show in the afternoon when it quiets down and see if there is a dealer with a Sigma Metalytics device. Or visit the LCS.

Be honest, you just want to confirm they're gold, not looking to sell at this time.

A reputable dealer will give you a quick opinion as long as it doesn't get in the way of business. If you find one, grab their business card and tuck it in with the coins and a note - If I'm dead contact this guy and see what he things a fair price is.

Given where you live, @Mainebill can probably give you some recommendations too.

Santinidollar, posted: "Give it a rest."

Sorry, It is not my :troll: nature. Accuracy and the pursuit of truth are important to me. You see, when I first joined CT, a long time respected member (just as yourself) was posting a bunch of nonsense about the Mint. He came off as very informed in his post which was a total made-up pack of lies, either posted out of ignorance or self-aggrandizement. I attacked him unmercifully :rage: by asking questions :angelic: (which went unanswered).

@TypeCoin971793 answered for you. I don't know what the interweb is but I have an idea. Now, if you had followed your own advice and had "rested," I should not have wasted my time with this :vomit: rebuttal.
