1800 UK gold coin,can you confirm

    Hi bought this from a guy selling metal detector coin finds on ebay.seated Britannia on reverse obverse is Georgivs 1111.The date is 1826 or 1828 not too sure.3.84 Grams.Any help appreciated thanks 1529683001351956667528.jpg 1529682980568-796168676.jpg 1529682956350-993439999.jpg 1529682914591336861923.jpg

    Is this not gold then ,it is dated 1820 something and when I shine light off the coin itsi got shiny gold like look ,but photos don't pick that up

    I can tell you one thing.

    That definitely isn't gold. Gold will never corrode like that.

    I strongly suggest that you don't buy a coin that you have no knowledge about. Was the seller advertising that coin as gold? 99% of collectors can tell you just by glancing that your coin is not gold.

    It's either a farthing or halfpenny (both of which are copper).

    It was bought as a bag of metal detector finds,I didn't pay much for it so it's fine.May be wishful thinking on my part
