Did you ever miss out on a coin you really wanted?

I was late seeing this and ended up second in line. It's been a long time but I'm still watching for it to pop back on the market.

I have a terrible habit of flagging lots to watch and then forgetting about them. Of course, my wife prefers I forget about all of them.

 

Yup, all the time. Streetcars, another will be along.

 

Just yesterday

 

I don’t know about you guys but when I miss out on a coin I generally find one later that appeals to me more — provided I have a little patience.

 

Whoa, karma. What amuses me is those cats that have to buy Early Bird tickets. At ANA summer shows, my best purchases are usually done on Day Five, after 12.

 

I can think of 2 that I missed out on.

The first had to be on the order of 20 years or more ago.
I didn't want to spend that much at the time.
Never seen another since.

The second was within the last 5 years.
I was the underbidder.
Never seen another and don't expect to.

 

I do that all the time. Sometimes i enter what i think is a lowball bid so i can watch it closer, then win it because nobody else bids on it.

 

Is the sky blue?

 

It’s supposed to be. Down here in the swamps it often takes on a greenish tinge.

 

Yes. And I won the auction. The seller must have had a ridiculous reserve price.

 

The sun burns the blue away and turns the sky to fire. It’s too damn hot!!!
