A few new Falling Horseman to share with you all. The first, an earlier issue from Antioch. Some concern arose about the desert patina but after a soak in warm water, and another in alcohol it seems okay. Next Aquileia. LXXII (72 to the pound) and chi-rho on the reverse. It also has a very interesting shield type similar to a coin of @maridvnvm s , also from Aquileia, but mine didn't photograph very well. An Alexandrian issue of Gallus. I was putting off showing this til another one came to compare with, but it's been a while so it may not come at all. Feel free to add any
On that swirling shield coin, I never noticed that it has a botched Z for the officina. Not sure what kind of comparisons you have in mind for that Gallus item from Alexandria, but if this will serve any use, such as it is, by all means have at it: Let me try a better image:
A nice coin @lrbguy This is the coin I've been waiting for (still no update on tracking). I just thought it was interesting because the horse's doesnt hang down into the ex like it does on other examples, like yours and my op. Though it looks like room was made for it.
You have an excellent eye for those minute details that I would personally never see, Randy! Nice catch!
On my only Gallus example from this issue (I need to do something about that only bit....) the head also doesn't break the exe line. In fact, looking at my four examples of Gallus (all different issues) only one of them has the horse breaking the exe line.
