Some folks just think their junk's is worth a ga-jillion. That Suzy B ain't a wide rim and at the most, is worth a buck..........
I believe that some of them legitimately don't know that the coin is NOT worth what they are listing it for but there are people out there who do and are waiting for someone who DOESN't to come along and scarf up their "rarity that they have for sale.
You can ask any price for anything. Whether you will or should get the price is another matter entirely. Etsy is full of junk like those listings.
Look up the seller "dreamtrophy" on eBay. He wants thousands for coins literally worth two-figures...or one figure. The dude is insane
And that wheat cent is graffiti details, as if it needed anything more going against it to unsubstantiate the price they are asking.
Ever really watched someone that have NO knowledge of coins use a price guide? Typical procedure is to go down the left column to find the date and mintmark. Once found go all the way over to the rightmost column and THAT has to be what their coin is worth. (if they don't know about mintmarks they select whichever row for that date that has the highest price in the far right column.)
