PicsArt_06-13-11.08.13.jpg I am meeting with a collector tomorrow, and I just got finished quoting to him that I have three 1970s small date coins and 1 large. Did I just tell him an unintentional lie? Let's call the upper left coin coin 1, the upper right coin 2, the bottom left coin 3, and the bottom right coin 4. My evaluation is coin 3 is the only large date and all the others are small. My goal is to get consistent answers from the majority who responds. Please answer in the following way: Coin 1- small coin 2- large and so on whatever you think. Appreciate it guys. Well it would help if I post the coins duh

It looks to me like coin 1 may be a Sm Date. The other 3 are definitely Lg Dates though.

I'll go with the whoever else.Please.
Looks like four large dates to me.
The way to tell the difference is to look at the 9. If the loop of the 9 bends sharply toward the 7, it is a small date. If the loop of the 9 is angled toward the top of the mintmark, it is a large date.

    I believe #1 may be a small.
#2 - not close enough or clear enough, might be a small
    #3 large
    #4 large

Disclaimer: I so seldom even look at circulated ones.

The more I look at #2 the less I like I as a small. I'm still liking the 9 curve on the #1 coin, and LIBERTY does look weak.

All large. I see zero markers for the small date, and ALL of
    the markers for large date.
This is a rare coin, it would be unusual to even have 1.

    #1 Large, #2 Large, #3 Large, #4 Large.

It would be best to see a photo from straight above, instead of at an angle like that.

Angles matter in photography and in this case straight from above matter a lot.

the "liberty" should be a unclear strike too (I think).

On the small date the curl on the 9 has to go all the way around. The point on the bottom of the 9 should be sharp. LIBERTY is weakly struck.
On the large date, the 9 does not go around and the end points to the foot of the 7.
The end of the 9 is blunt. LIBERTY is well struck.

PicsArt_06-14-02.13.59.jpg I took the advice of someone and took a shot of the coins more flat instead of at an angle to get a better view. Did your original answers change? Mines did. 1 and 2 small 3 and 4 large

Trust me, I brought up those same references and stared at them until my eyes were blood shot red. It seems as though coin 1 and 2 have that curve pointing more towards the 7. They also look pretty aligned at the top,and one of the liberty's is weak. Also, I read that on a small the tail of the 7 is almost even with the zero. On a large the tail is obviously longer than the zero.I took more shots have a look once more. Thanks again for helping me.
