I need expert opinions. I see similarities between the left and the right . Does anyone else? I don't see them to be identical but quite similar? thanks
Rather unusual to see a question go this long without any response. I am guessing everyone else is somewhat stumped as I am by your question. The photography is cool. However the question is a mystery. What exactly are to trying to find out here?
I was surprised that anyone answered, beating around the bush for a superficial answer? A coin is viewed as a whole, and cant be identified by two areas of the coin unless they are die markers. This is like the blind leading the blind.
I understand. Although the Variety vista site doesn't show the entire coin. It shows main points of identification I believe . So would that be considered die markers as you said? Thanks
One is a variety Vista photographed 1982 d and the other is a 1982d I have accquired . The points shown are some of the ones on the site where you can compare and see if you have a variety. I am just wondering if the pictures look similar as far as thickness and shadowing and such .. aka do they match meaning are both doubled dies? Sorry I guess I should have stated that to begin with. My apilogiea. I hope I made it easier to understand . I'm not the best at explaining things. Thanks
Now I got ya..... And I can say with all honesty I am not an errors/varieties guy. But there are certainly some seasoned experts here. You will stand a much better chance of an informed response if you post obverse/reverse photos of the entire coins.
I would have voted NO on the question. the "G" and the "O" clearly (to me) look different. as to the T and R also different. Rather than trying to lead us to your answer ... why don't you just ask the basic question of what you think you have ?
