Honestly the blank quarter is probably the only one worth more than face value, but I like showing you guys what I have and I learn more about these coins ever time.
The dime and cent are worth above face. The cent actually looks to be 1874 and worth few dollars. The dime is silver and worth a couple dollars.
You’re right it is 4 and not a 1. I figured the dime was worthless because the rim is messed up and it’s so tarnished. The cent has a lot of buildup, but I wouldn’t remove it. I feel like it would probably lose value if I did. Thanks for the reply
Read about the coin-minting process, and you'll see how we go from a strip of metal, to a blank (a disc punched out from the strip), to a planchet (with a raised, or "upset", rim), to a coin (with designs on both sides and a reeded edge, at least for dimes, quarters and halves). You're on the right track here; you know not to clean potentially valuable coins, and you're making good observations. Welcome to CoinTalk!
