This penny I found has no date, it is a wheat penny can anyone help me? Error penny? What's it worth?
If you look somewhat closely you can see a lot of scrap marks on the date/mm area. I would guess PMD - which means Post Mint Damage; someone damaged the cent after it left the mint. In this case they scraped the date and mintmark off. Luckily a damaged cent is always worth at least 1 cent.
That means who ever scratched off the date/mm didn't scratch off other stuff. Even in this zoomed in picture you can clearly see a hundred rub marks where the date/mm used to be. This image clearly shows wear, scratches and dings all over the place. You can get an approximately date range of the cent as liberty is on the far left and the uplifted W in WE was common in certain years.
