I honestly can't believe I acquired this, but managed to work out a very nice deal. It is a real beauty. Perfectly off-centered at 3 o'clock, full and complete date, entire head shows but plenty of unstruck planchet showing, and an AU50 to boot all while being over a century and a half old. Tiny verdigris spot on reverse but not distracting and well-preserved. (1865 AU50 Fancy 5; PCGS) Enjoy!
You are really good at finding very cool errors. I'm not really an errors collector but every coin you post, makes me want it lol. You have a very nice collection from what you've posted so far. Thanks for sharing them!
Sweet! Great looking IHC! If you got a great price on it, then you did well! Personally, I stay away from errors b/c of previous bad luck on the resale value! I mean there's definitely collectors of error coins but not too many in my area.
Thank you. I am actually building a collection to eventually leave my family or put on loan as a display at the University near my hometown. It is easier for me maybe than most becauae I am not a dealer looking to resell them. I like ones that stand out and illustrate a great example of an error type, and try to get a few different denominations.
