Looks normal to me. It's in alright condition for the age but it definitely isn't worth over 25 cents.
Occasionally you will find a coin in circulation that doesn't look too bad. Let's say it is XF-45. (Extremely Fine) (That pesky Sheldon scale again.) It's not AU (Almost Uncirculated, also About Uncirculated). For this coin to be worth more than a quarter it would have to be MS (Mint State) which is unlikely to be found in circulation after 50 years. If you like the coin, you can put it in a flip and save it. But there's millions of these coins, it's value is a quarter.
This, whoever said this was wrong. Not a good find, unless you found it on the floor, then you are 25 cents up. That is a good find
