Sweet 2center! Definitely a coin I need upgraded in my 7070. I really don't know this series. Are you at AU with your coin, or is it Unc?
I'm not certain with this one. If I had to grade it I'd say its uncirculated details, cleaned/retoned and a corrosion spot removed on the obverse. It has a cool look and color though despite the issues, IMO. Came from an old type album. ... and the date thing is neat, though I'm not positive what's going on there.
I'm with you, I don't mind a details coin for my album, depending on what it is. It definitely can make a sweet coin cheaper!
Ok, thanks for taking a look. Edit- I just looked and can't see a darn thing. Either seeing shadows or I need glasses. Good news is I don't think it was cleaned as a whole after all, just that one spot. I need to work on educating myself on what high-grade old copper is supposed to look like.
Great looking coins up there!! I'm mostly a token and medals collector but I still pickup coins if one whispers to me. My coins only whisper to me because they're usually cheaper than others shown on this forum. These two were bought for the California gold rush year. ~Cheers!
Can you tell me the difference ( besides the obvious) between the soft and hard pack? Were they different prices, or lower graded coins?
Latest addition to my toned silver mission medal series. I had been missing this one. Now I'm only missing one to complete the series, though a couple are blast white and I eventually want to complete with all monster toners.
We just got this coin in from PCGS and got a nice surprise. The photography picked up some nice color we had missed because of the overall darkness. The coin almost has a bronzed look to it and with the highlights makes for a nice acquisition. This is an MS62 and we believe the DDO major variety although right now labeled as a minor variety
1066merlin. 5 Swedish ore. Three crowns on one side - Stockholm's town Hall has 3 crowns on top. I think the reverse is logo of a recent Swedish King.
I've been wanting a British trade dollar for a while now and finally found one. The capped half I've had for a while and think is a little under graded. I believe it to be more weak strike instead of being worn. The other two I got just to get. The half dime does have some nice red and blue on it.
