On Colonial Banknotes, many of them bear dates of issue. Some of them bear dates in 1776. Thus, my question is, out of those banknotes, which ones have the closest date to July 4, 1776?
Perhaps I should have specified more. On this banknote from Pennsylvania, it is dated October 1, 1773. Banknotes from Pennsylvania and all of the other 13 colonies issued banknotes dated 1776. My question is which date on a banknote from any of the thirteen colonies falls closest to July 4, 1776. Credit for image goes to BanknoteDen.com
I've always wondered about this too. I've always thought it would be great, historically, to own "US" coinage/paper as close to July 4th, 1776 as possible. Or at least 1776 in general.
