Should there be a 75th anniversary special coin for the Roosevelt dime?

The Roosevelt dime has been around since 1946 and by 2021 it will be 75 years old so will the mint do anything special for that anniversary and will they eventually replace it with something new?

It wouldn't surprise me. They did a special series for the lincoln cent 100. And they did a special 50-year Kennedy half. So I fully expect something for the Roosevelt in a few years.

Should there be? No. Will there be? Probably.

They'll probably 'let it ride' until 2046, then issue the centennial gold piece a la the 2016 gold Merc ;)

I’d expect them to do something. Whether or not it will be any good is a different story

I never liked the Roosevelt design, but that's just me.

I don't care if they make one or not; I won't buy it if they do.

Let's hope not but they probably will. All we need is another useless commemorative coin. Never really cared for it either. The designs are to plain.

They didn’t do very much for the 50th. Just a special edition from West Point, but still had the same design, just back in silver. Best I know, it’s the only running series that hasn’t had a design change since it’s inception.

They did a 50th with Westpoint mint so it would make sense.

They'll have a 1 gram Gold Dime for the price of 1/6th oz spot gold.
But they'll make it razor thin so it's the same diameter.

Imo the mint should be recognizing both the Morgan and Peace dollars for 2021 as 1921 was the final year of the Morgan and first year of the Peace (forgetting about the 1964 plans). I've been pressing my congressional reps to try and get them to consider introducing legislation to commemorate the occasion. I think the mint already somewhat recognized the dime with the march of dimes set which wasn't that long ago.

Why not retire it and come out with a new design.

I am so seriously burnt out on new mint designs. I saw someone comment on here about the upcoming “state highway quarter series”. Funniest thing I ever read on CT. The heartbreaking thing is.... It’s not that far fetched given all we have been subjected to in recent years.

After that series is over they will introduce the classic car quarter series starting in 2052 and lasting all the way up till 2064 with 5 new quarters each year showing iconic classic cars from the 1920's till the 1970's.

The new classic car quarter series will start out with the 1929 FWD Cord and end off with the 1977 Bandit Trans Am.

I'll be dead by then. Otherwise, I'd be 98 and could care less. Either way I look at it, I don't care. Sad isn't it?

They should put the mercury dime reverse on the Roosevelt dime in 2021 and see if anyone notices.
