Thought on 1889-S Morgan

Hi!

What do you think of the condition and grade of this keydate Morgan?

I personally think it’s an OK example to fill a hole but not a stunning specimen..

Just going off my phone I'd say AU50-53 and got some hits. I basically agree with your assessment.

 

Looks heavily cleaned to me.

 

AU details - toothpaste.

 

When you can detect toothpaste, you're good.

 

Agree with AU Details. Significant wear along the hairline and lack of luster.
