it's not the "S" that signifies Large Date vs Small Date. It's the Date that signifies it. Notice the "7" dropping down more, identifying it as a Large Date. The "S" would identify a Small MintMark vs a large MintMark. Or die deterioration, etc. notice that usacoinbooks description does not include anything about the "S", but the "7" in the date
