The mint mark in the 1999 was damaged. Put the large photo on your screen and measure ( 2 marks on a piece of paper will do) from the damaged end of the mint mark and then move the paper with measurement from the edge of the coin to each of the nines and it will reach the tips of each 9 which are less damaged , but still are damaged. The 1985 is a nickel. These modern coins are mass produced, almost impossible to find a modern nickel worth more than 5 cents.
