FYI, Dan added this disclaimer to his site when he added the new cents, half cents, etc: "Please allow a couple weeks for production and shipping of current products."

I am sure that finding suitable specimens is difficult.
Does anyone have a coin that they have collected to fill there own order? Just a thought?

I've asked if I could supply a donor, but didn't receive a reply, so I guess unless it is specifically mentioned, then they are unwelcome.

I bought a 1918 bulk handled piece on eBay and made it a satin finish proof after toning it. I don't know whether I like the frosty originals, or the toned matte. I didn't want to take a chance in my pocket and have some of the detail wear away.

I've been busy with too many things happening at once. But I'll be picking up the pace on production and shipping of pending orders going into the weekend and into next week (when I expect to be caught up, finally).

Are your classic head large cent overstrikes AG in grade, or do you try to use VG or better examples? (I know, of course, that you couldn't afford to overstrike Fine or better most likely, since those are already worth more than what you're charging for the OS.

Also, am I correct in assuming you have to use planchets that are not pitted or corroded? Seems that would limit your availability of examples, if so.

@TopcatCoin I saw he posted this over on CU
"Production and shipping of recent orders will be picking up the pace going into next week. This includes the Saint-Gaudens over-strikes and the early copper over-strikes."
I should have read all the before I posted this:rolleyes:

Dan said it was based on the cost/difficulty of acquiring the original coins (in the proper condition).

I can only imagine the process involved.

If someone had the needed coins it would be easier for me to just purchase them outright and add them into the production mix.

Right now, I am in need of Braided Hair half cents (cleaned/worn/mild-corrosion ok).

Smoothly-worn pieces will work. Cleaning and mild corrosion will not affect the result. Deep puncture wounds and edge cuts will not work.
