Hey all, a few weeks ago I picked this up and looking around on here I’ve seen a few other threads on fakes and it got me thinking about the authenticity of mine. If needed I can upload different pictures. Anyways all help will be appreciated.
Hard to say...patina is easily faked. Can you take pictures of the edges, and provide diameter and weight of the coins?
This coin appears to be a genuine Nero "as." The weight and size are normal for this coin, and to my eye the surface, texture, and patina appear similar to other Roman bronzes. I would think that if this coin were a forgery, the patina would have had to been applied and would look much more uniform than this coin's actual patina.
