Is this the most intelligent case of shill bidding we have ever seen? Ya Think? http://cgi.ebay.com/Beautiful-RED-1...yZ139803QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
LMAO, thats great nice find good catch. I hope he runs up alot of ebay fees and wins all his own coins before they boot him off
Oh Gawd! Is it sheer coincidence? This guy must have been really been hitting the bot(t)le when he hatched this brilliant scheme!
Geez, I had to send him a question short and simple. "Current high bidder is botlman75. Please assure me that is the biggest coincidence in ebay history."
too bad, cause that reverse is gorgeous, I'd love to have it, but at a fair price, say about $15/$20 shipped?
I'm terribly confused. If the start price was 99¢, and one bidder put in a max of $19.99, shouldn't his bid show up as 99¢ until and unless a second bidder comes in above that?
He placed a reserve , and then a bid to reach that reserve. This guy is REALLY smart, reserves cost extra !!!
Good catch Hontonai and AZJack, I was so amused by the auction that I didn't even think about it. So I just checked it out to see what was up. Since I signed in I found out my shipping cost would be $10.39! This shill deal gets better all the time!
if it is a coincidence... it'd be ridiculous... they are members are similar times. Botlman since Nov2 Bottlman since Nov13 or I have those switched, either way, its only a week and some days apart.
I know that Magman you crazy currency hound. As painful as it was I was just being polite. Just checked my ebay page and no response. Can you imagine that? LOL
You dont think this could the be the very same penny he just bought on 11/27?? http://cgi.ebay.com/Beautiful-RED-1...yZ139803QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Good catch !!! I saw that coin then, and now I know why I like it, the reverse is a beauty, but I didn't bid then, and I'm not going to now... I'm going to email him and offer a trade of some old pharmacy bottle I have...no kidding..
I got an answer! "Don't know what you are talking about. I havent got anyone bidding on anything for me. And I reallly dont appreciate it. Thank you." Scuze me folks? Did I mention anything about shill bidding in my original question? Methinks someone is feeling "found out". Good post Jack and great research CoinGal.
LOL, I wrote to him about two seconds after Arizona Jack posted this thread and I got a reply. When I wrote to Bottlman75, I asked him if he would be upset if I out bid him on his coin. Then I told him that its not the best idea to bid on his own auctions that he was going to get himself in trouble. And if he was going to bid on his own auctions, it might be a good idea to make a new name that wasnt so similar to the name hes selling the coin on. Anyhow he sent me a reply and heres what he sent me. "Sorry if you feal that way I tryed to get botlman75 but it was taken this is the name they suggested so if you dont want it dont bid on it. Thank You Anyway"
