is this a rare dime or really worn?

    this one looked strange so i kept it aside any ideas if this is an error? even the words on back side look FAT 2013-07-27 20.10.20.jpg 2013-07-27 20.11.55.jpg

    looks worn I have a dime similar to that , I might be just die wear...
    if you think of it as a error check to see if you can find anything similar to this in error variety.com , coin world , or one of the numerous error sites..

    Looks like a bad strike or a broken die to me definitely a mint error all detail looks over thick and muddy especially at the lower part of the coin I've never seen one like it

    the coin looks like it may be a broadstruck coin. does it have a reeded edge or smooth edge ?

    The odd appearance of the obverse has more to do with inadequate upset and an excessively convex die. This appearance is the norm in 1985-D dimes and is quite common among 1985-P dimes.

    But that doesn't mean it's not "rare".... each and every one of my driveway stones is unique and therefore "rare" (in context). Of course this doesn't make them special or valuable. ;)
