She invented frequency hopping, as a method to prevent a third party from jamming a communications signal. She gave it to the Navy in World War II, but they were not able to implement it until after the war. It's the basis for which WiFi, Bluetooth and other radio frequency communications are done today.

 

That is correct.....and was first used in the 1960's durring the Cuban missile crisis. She wasn't only a good looker and actress but pretty darn smart to boot.
As for the nickel I gave 5 cents for it and would of paid the cost of having it slabbed.
However a coin club member paid for the grading as a gift to me..so I paid 5 cents ! As I cherry Picked it...

Ok. Back to basics. This is a common date coin in a very common grade. Thankfully her eye appeal and old holder more than makes up for how common she is. I bought her at a local show last month. PCGS MS-64 1880-S Morgan Dollars average on eBay between $50.00 and $75.00. What did I pay?
