I could be off, but my first impression of the neckline was AU and the second set of pictures doesn't seem to show much luster, so I'll go against the crowd and say AU53...
MS-62. Yet another one of those dates that are much scarcer than most realize, and 90% of the extant population is damaged. Amazing example.
I'll also go MS 62 (at least that was my first impression before the AU thoughts started appearing...but I'll stick with the initial guess).
Good grief, that coin is scarce. Pretty awesome to have a high-end rare piece with a serious die crack like that to boot.
This is an easy coin to get if you want a damaged, cleaned, repaired, or otherwise problematic example that looks like a major eyesore and don't mind paying up for it. Try to find a reasonably priced problem free example in ANY grade. It isn't easy in the slightest. I am 100% jealous, to say the least.
PCGS graded the coin 12 years ago. I thought it would grade AU but it graded MS-62. Thanks for guessing. Many nailed it.
Knowing your age and years collecting, My guess was based on a different time and grading curve of TPG's. That's why I said MS 60 as by todays standards its either Au or 63/64 or higher when theres no doupt you have a killer specimen. Seldom do 60 throught 62 grades give .
