See the ring running through all the letters? It was caused by the end crimper of a coin rolling machine. It is a damaged coin, not an error
Damage. Not an error. Assume this is an error, that means the letter C is engraved on the die and not a G. That means there are hundreds of thousands of these coins in circulation, but after almost 40 years, this is the first one known. Not likely.
