Odd 1979 d nickel

Hey guys wondering if anyone can see any visible errors here?

Where the g in God is it looks like a c?

 

I see nothing but normal Circulation wear and tear..

What is it that you see that looks different?

 

The g looks like a c. Mint mark is a blob and the 9 looks to continue right through

 

Probably took a hit.. There is no reason for the US Mint to replace the letter G with a C

 

And the signature or initials are two blobs

 

The only errors here are perceptual.

 

See the ring running through all the letters? It was caused by the end crimper of a coin rolling machine. It is a damaged coin, not an error

 

Nope, not an error, sorry.

 

It is very worn. Probably circulation damage.

 

Damage. Not an error. Assume this is an error, that means the letter C is engraved on the die and not a G. That means there are hundreds of thousands of these coins in circulation, but after almost 40 years, this is the first one known. Not likely.

1962-D extremely common and circulated. .05 cents

 

Can you tell me the dates worth looking out for.

 

In Jefferson nickels, not many. All are readily attainable.

 

1938-D and 1950-D are harder to find.
