We don't care about your age. We do care that you are just being rude to folks trying to help you. Post images and double check the weight of the coin.
You came here to get answers but you are not helping.

Everybody here has tried to help the OP. It is a waste of time to try to be nice and patient with him. He’s either a troll or has the social skills of a mineral that he mistakes for intelligence.

Either way, it’s time for him to get lost with his “silver penny.”

On his profile he’s 58. Suppose he’s out of middle school yet?

Let's hold off until he actually does post a photo. 159Miller, please post visual evidence or abandon this line of discussion. Also confirm the weight as you said 3.1, just put on the scale and photo it also. Thanks Jim

I searched for that, 'PENNYS' and all, and the only thing that came up was 1943 steel cents. Not sure what you are seeing.

If it were plated would that account for the added weight over the 2.5 grams of a zincoln?

As I have said once above, lets wait. With out the photos we have nothing concrete to go from. It may not be a 1990 cent, it may not be anything.

When I saw the title "silver penny" I thought the thread was about a medieval coin.

    :)

Maybe he has a Uranium penny that aged him to age 80 but shrunk his brain to be an 8 year old...

That's what I told him and he got upset with me.

Typical plating on a Zincoln weighs .05 grams. To raise the weight by .6 grams it would have to be twelve times as thick as the plating already on it. I think a plating that thick would be about 3/100th of an inch thick and that is going to wipe out some of the detail.

People weigh coins on a home postal scale and then get all excited.
Meanwhile, the wait for the photos continues.
I will keep pacing back and forth.

I wonder how many of these are the same person creating new accounts just to have fun with us, or to get even for remarks they didn't like.

It really gets old when there is so many folks here, that are willing to give them knowledge, After years of this, it gets old. But, there are those that definitely think that they, break the mold and, "they know everything" Don't believe them? just ask em.
