The other day I mentioned to my brother in law that I was looking for some place to buy some cool but relatively inexpensive coins to use for sleight of hand. He reaches into his wallet and pulls out this Morgan Dollar that he’s had for over 20 years—He’d been using it to flip when he would have trouble making a decision—and tells me I can just have it. I just want to make sure it’s nothing particularly noteworthy before I go handling it a lot. From what I’ve found, it seems like it’s worth around $15, but someone over on Reddit pointed me toward these forums to make sure it doesn’t have a rare VAM or anything. Let me know if any more close ups of other areas might be at all helpful.
It's an 1882 O over S. Worth a bit over melt. Upwards of $50? Hang tight, there will be some that know more than I that will be by soon to offer more comments.
