I only recently learned how to do these short little GIF animations. They're fun. This Constantine I campgate has really nice soldering - NO, Autocorrect - I said silvering, not "soldering"! Geez. Where was I? Oh, yeah. Nice soldering - aaarrrgh - SILVERING. So to showcase that for @dadams, who's likely about to acquire this coin in a swap with me, here 'tis. OK, yeah, so it looks rather seasick, but it shows the flashiness a little bit. (See? Not ALL my ancients are in plastic sarcophagi!) Hm. Those last two images looked OK on my phone screen but horrible on a full sized monitor. Eh. Whatever. All three images here are imperfect, but they give some idea of the look of the coin, anyway.
'Course my feeble first steps into GIF-making are a far cry from a certain somebody else's GIF-fy-licious creations, but you've gotta start somewhere, right?
I liked the flowers and their beautiful colors, as well as green herbs more than that "crazy horse" with a snake on the back. LOL..
ah, did you join giphy?...kool!..i've not seen too many with that much silver still intact...good one!..
Nice Rob!!! I got a little something, something posted today so let me know when it arrives. Yours looks a bit better than my first campgate and first ancient:
That's a sweet campgate with some NICE silvering! I messed around with a few gifs, here is one I made of the reverse of a Sassanian drachm. I kind of game up just because it's so easy to load a vid on YouTube that looks so much better. Here's one vid I did.. I did make a gif of 6 seconds of this vid at half frame rate and resolution, and the file still was 11 mb, I thought that would make it unwieldy for some.
Yes, but considering you got that one for only $8.50, and it too had some soldering, that was a win. Silvering. It too had some SILVERING. Thanks for the "help" there, Autocorrect. Grrr.
The Sasanian GIF looks good. So does your Ecu vid. I've done a few YouTube vids, and on a site like this where you can embed them, that's probably just as good or better, I suppose. But there are some places where you can't embed video, of course. I haven't tried uploading video to my CollectiveCoin galleries. Have my doubts it would work. Might try, though. GIFs work fine in the supplemental photos for each coin. Static image of the coin above:
Thanks to the Snake and, esp. the Horse for making those lovely flowers grow. A Snake Cowboy worth it's name !!!
Slowing down the frame speed on the GIF in the OP allows for a better view of the coin but gives it a more herky-jerky, juddery look. I kinda like the result, though, other than it being somewhat flickery. Feel free to ignore. I'm just fiddling around.
