Is this normal?

    I found a penny(1988) which appears to have die cracks(I could be wrong) all over the obverse and reverse. Is this worth holding onto? Thank you for your help. 20180517_132611.jpg 20180517_132632.jpg 20180517_132646.jpg

    Those are not die cracks. Looks more like die polish lines.

    They are die polish lines. If a die is clashed or suffers some other type of damage, technicians will try to polish out the defect. If they use a coarser polishing medium it will can leave lines like this. It doesn't add any value.

    Occasionally, when you see polish lines like this, you can still see clash marks (your coin has too much environmental damage to tell). Once again, no significant added value, but a cool error IMO

    This is a Die Crack. It's an actual crack on the Die that is striking the blank Planchet. The metal flows into the crack and appears raised in the coin -

    It is not a crack on the coin itself. That would be another type of issue.
