Is this 2002 d Mississippi State quarter really an error coin on both sides?

    I recently was handed this in a handful of change ..im pretty new at all this hence why I'm here hoping to get a clear answer!! Thanks so much ahead of time!!

    I'm gonna go out on a limb and hazard a guess....and say no. Until we get pictures to confirm that I am indeed correct ;)

    Not a mint error. Clad coins usually get this patina if they have been buried and since coins are circulated, there are numerous ways they can be damaged and stained. It looks exactly like the coins I find metal detecting.
