I've researched the '88 Doubled ear lincoln cent and the ones I see on Wexlers do not match up with the cent pictured below. I am putting this out to my friends on Cointalk because I cannot personally tell if this is a hit of some kind or if it is a doubled ear. I'm leaning towards not but I want to make sure. fullsizeoutput_bd6.jpeg IMG_0307.JPG

I cannot say for sure but it looks fairly uniform. When you compared at Wexler's were there any markers associated with it to look for? If it is doubled, could be a known or unknown stage or possibly a new variety.

hmmmmm, not sure on the markers. The doubled ears on Wexlers were obviously identifiable. This does not look like a hit or a pmd strike to me..............

Judging only from the photos, it looks like nothing more than a well-placed hit to me.

Agreed. It does not look like a doubled die to me.
