Hi Everybody, I hope you're all doing great! I'm pretty much back on track now. I'm back at work and spent the weekend with my best friend of 24 yrs! In my previous thread, I mentioned that I would love to someday own a Herodian lamp because were used during the time of Christ. Well, an incredibly generous CoinTalker who wishes to remain anonymous hooked me up big time and sent me this: Thank you, kind CoinTalker. You guys seriously blow my mind! You helped me come out of this depression I fell into. Thanks to my CoinTalk family! Y'all pwn all noobs! Erin Btw, does anybody know anything about Yacoub Mitri?
O wow! what a so nice thing!!.. more lone ranger stuff!.. glad to hear you're doing better and that beat X-mas lights lamps down! ..
That's a cool lamp Erin. I've been keeping my eyes open for something similar for quite a while. Glad that you are feeling better, too.
Very nice lamp. A more accurate date would be end of 1st Century BC to end of 1st Century AD. For reference, see Noam Adler, Oil Lamps of the Holt Land, The Adler Collection, #77-91.
What a lovely gift! Do you know who the CTer was? You don't have to say...just curious if you know. Who ever you are...you're awesome!
Thanks everybody! Thanks for the info, Ken. I do know who it came from, but this CT'er has wished to remain anonymous. I have to find a really good spot to put it so it stands out in my living room. As always, feel free to post anything related or random! Erin
Random acts of kindness was a thread I tried to get started here on CT. The thread didn't go very far but reading this gives us all a lift. Karma comes in two flavors one is pretty sweet the other well you don't want to know how it taste! To anonymus you not only get a WTG from the members here! but also some sugary sweet karma coming your way.
Sweet lamp! Look at the soot stains on it. Someone used that lamp way back. I am sure there is a sappy statement about how it is lighting your way to happiness now but I think instead I will just say: "All of your bases are belong to us!". Peace!
