Does anybody remember the episode of the Honeymooners where Ralph goes on the $99,000 Answer tv game show??

The show starts off with another contestant and his question was "How many times does the number "ONE" appear either in written form or numeral form".... His answer was "25.. the word "ONE" appears 16 times and the numeral "1" appears 9 times"

I've searched the web and can't seem to find a consensus as to the real correct answer... was he right (in 1955)??

Are they asking about a one dollar bill?
Does it include plate numbers, series dates, and serial numbers?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention part of the question was "disregarding the Serial Number"

I just checked a Series 1935 Silver Certificate and I count 27 times. So not sure.

If this is the correct one, then I think 25 was right. 1 or One=13 front and 9 back; One Dollar= 2 front and 1 back. 13+9+2+1=25

I count the number "One/1" 16 times on the front and 10 times on the back. That is including the 1 in the date the series of 1957B.

Typically the series date and serial numbers are excluded.

I could not find this one so you might be right. The one I found I think was a 1957

25+2, if you count the Roman numeral 'l' at the end of '1776' in the base of the pyramid and the Latin word 'unum' above the eagle - in either case, it's a good bar bet - carry an old silver certificate and offer it against a drink if the 'victim' can guess the correct number in one attempt. Chances are, you'll enjoy many freebies before you lose the bill.

The episode (#18 of the first season) was aired January 28, 1956, and his answer was deemed correct, so 25 it is. The word ONE, 10 times on front, 6 times on back. The number 1, 5 times on front, 4 times on back. Although the question said "disregarding the serial number" but doesn't clarify if the issue date is excluded, but I would assume so.
