There are a ton of past threads on this very subject (CAC) if really interested in reliving the arguing and banter. CAC is simply a tool, and as with any tool is most useful in the hands of someone genuinely knowing how to use it. The same can be said for everything from TPGs to hammers.
If the YN's really READ then maybe they would realize that these devine revelations aren't! They would realize that the same topics have been hashed over and over....instead they go for the 15 minuites of fame .....and again tastin shoe leather!
I went to the CAC website and was shocked when I checked the coins they certify.. They use the word Double Die coins instead of Doubled Die!
Truly, in the short time I’ve been here — less than three years — there have been plenty of threads giving this issue a thorough going over. Look them up, get a cold beverage, and read away. You’ll get all sorts of opinions and ideas.
You see Alan that's where I take issue... today's youth wants to be recognized as equal especially in this hobby. To be honest it does my heart good to see todays youth at coin shows, especially young girls with their dads sharing this hobby. Where I take issue is they come in here run their lips and have no idea of what they are saying.Even more so never take the time to research the passed threads as they might learn something. And god forbid you learn something...because if you did ,and posted to a thread or started a thread that was both educational, and entertaining you would never know the pleasure of sticking your foot into your mouth! Please know I have no mallace towards todays youth but in order to" gain respect one most learn to respect." One never gains anything by trying to BS their way through life. However when one speaks intelligently and has the knowledge to back their speach,no one can label you a fool.
15 minutes of fame, are you stating that I am asking this question to bring attention to myself? PS, I though asking may be a good idea since older threads may be misleading or not up to date.
That’s not a youth thing that’s an internet thing. Once something gets off the first page and especially off the first two pages it usually doesn’t get seen again. Certain topics will always come up over and over and happen on all the forms and it’s people of all ages starting them.
To be fair, CB; this exact thing isn't unheard of here to say the least. There was recently another young fellow that went out of his way to "agree" with or simply repeat whatever poster he believed had the right/best answer, and just loved to use google to show how "knowledgeable" he was. However, if you dared to try to help said kid, even when he asked a question, it was generally either ignored or was met with excessive hostility. Younger guys like this make it harder for sincere others, and is something I've a feeling you understand (based upon things you've said). Just keep being yourself and take it in stride. Respect is best earned... if you know what I mean.
Okay, perhaps it was Bing or whatever. Does it really matter? And as for how, it might have had a little something to do with the fact that if he wasn't "agreeing" or echoing other's, his posts were generally nothing more than copy/paste jobs taken from other websites. To be fair, though; it's not just the young. We used to have a member rather fond of stealing DLRC photos, running them through Photoshop autocorrect, claiming a different TPG holder, and presenting them as his own photos of coins in his personal collection. As they say: it takes all kinds...
