A toned Buffalo seldom is not one fine-looking coin.

I love it too. I think it was held to a 65 because of the dark spots on it. Thankfully they don’t look like carbon spots rather just gunk. I wonder if it were to be conserved, if those spots would reveal bright white or possibly the same color underneath. The only way to find out would be to crack it. I have a hard time doing that to older holders. So it just might stay the way it is.

I can’t believe how deep and rich the gold is. The blues and lavenders really pop against it.

@jtlee321 , I have a couple Morgans in those same NGC holder as your '81-S that have very similar toning. That purple/indigo rim toning. I believe the holders caused some of that toning. I really like them.

    Hi Michael
As part of your ten step recovery program step #1 knowing you have an addiction.
Step #2 disassociate yourself with those whom may cause you to back slide in your addiction. Step #3 send me your coins so you aren't near the things that drive your addiction. Step #4 admit you'r a coin aholic. Step #5 find yourself a hobby like drinking :hilarious:

Yes, which is why NGC went to the holder with the line in it, to try to create a physical barrier. I personally love the look these old holders develop. I also seem to find more surviving undergraded pieces in these holders than the PCGS Rattlers or OGH’s.

The Rattles and OGH's have likely been picked over at a much higher rate than the older NGC holders.

Precisely, that's why I said "surviving" as a lot more people look at rattlers and OGH's first. It's funny how NGC is kinda overlooked and slightly discounted over PCGS. Works out great for me. :)

Thought it was time that the Kennedy half have a better representation in my collection than in a Bicentennial silver proof set.:woot:

@Santinidollar , I had to have one of the Accented Hair Kennedy's in my collection as well. I have the same grade. Now I'd like to get one with Cameo. No rush though.

I’ve always admired the 2014 gold Kennedy. The coin, of course, and not the prices I run across.

These and a few others are going to PCGS with my grading voucher, which I get when I renew my membership next week.
