Fake. 95% sure. I say that and not 100% because my main focus is $2 1/2 Indians, not $5, but it has the same look as the fake $2 1/2s.
What is the giveaway? I have quite the “tribe” of Indian $5.00 and $2.50 pieces. I can usually sniff out a fake and this one isn’t setting off alarms in my brain. Profile and headdress seem correct to me. I’m not questioning judgment at all. I just want to know the signs because I can’t ever seem to pass these up when I see them. Edit.... To the OP’s question.... If authentic these typically bring $400.00-$450.00.
Mushy details, especially in the lettering, etc. Also, the color/luster has the look of a fake to me. @ToughCOINS ?
I agree, this coin looks questionable to me too. I hesitate to declare it fake from these images, but if it is returnable, I would return it.
Τhank you all for your answers! I would never buy a coin I am not certain, this looked like a nice buy but I will return it. weight 8.34gr and diameter 21.9 think also that it doesn't match.
I live in Greece, after the crisis lots of shops opened buying gold and silver from people how need cash, unfortunately many collectible coins ended melted. Sometimes some get rescued .....
