1982 D small date - hi, my husband and I just started looking for coin errors back in January. In April, he found a 1982 D small date but it only weighed 2.5 g. I found this one today on a sidewalk. It does weigh 3.1 g. Any opinions? Thank you so much. -Cathy

Not a small date. There are a lot of reference pics of a 1982 small date cent on Google Images.

You should post your own coin in your own thread. Not cool to hijack someone else's thread. If you do that, I'm sure someone will be happy to help you out.

    Welcome, Deborah.

While it is best to start your own thread, no one can expect you to know this. No harm, no foul.

As for your coin, it's tough to say one way or the other and simply because I cannot sufficiently see it. If you do decide to start a thread, and if possible to post better photos, it would be a big help.

Also, it is usually very helpful if those asking a question clarify as to exactly what they're asking about. What about the coin makes you question if it's an error?

You've nothing to apologize for, but thank you. :)

As for posting a new thread, simply choose whatever subforum you'd like (under the forums option right below "Talk" of CoinTalk in the upper left hand corner of each page) and open it. Once you have, look on the right hand side just above the thread list and you'll see a large blue button that says "Post New Thread". Click it and the rest should be pretty much self-explanatory. Use "Upload a File" to post photos. Hope this helps some.
