I am chicken. His feedback is just too poor. I do not have the expertise to determine if it is real, but I see nothing to say it is not. Just guessing, he stole the picture from somewhere. No return policy. Often counterfeitted coin. Very valuable. No slab. Stolen picture. "Grandfather's collection". On the bright side, he does take paypal.... Are you nuts or do you just like to gamble? In all seriousness, almost surely a scam. I'd guess a hijacked account, but not sure...Mike
BTW, here's where he stole the pics from: http://www.coinfacts.com/small_cents/lincoln_cents/wheat_ear_cents/1909s_vdb_cent.htm
I would stay away, the common idiot would know a real coin in that grade is worth more than $650. I get very bad vibes from that auction man. You're not chicken, just smart. Phoenix
Reported. This one won't last long. FWIW< I asked the seller: "Would you care to explain why you stole your photographs from coinfacts.com?" hehehehe
I blew it up, it's a Die #3 and appears genuine to me, but then again, I just misjudged a 09-S. This one, I'll bet money on is real. That does not mean I'd bid on it. SOmethins fishy
It is gone, but not by eBay. "The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing."
Now here's my question everyone. The guy got flat out busted due to some great detective work by CT members. Auction was reported to ebay and he got a "question". After question he pulls auction realizing he's been busted big time. NOW. What will ebay do about it. He obviously had every intention to scam the potential bidders. EVERYTHING about this auction is a lie designed to perpetrate (most likely) interstate fraud. Would this fall under the category of mail fraud? A FEDERAL OFFENSE. Will ebay just "turn the other cheek" knowing full well that this was a blatant attmept at a fraud that may violate FEDERAL laws? Would that not make them an accesory if this person is allowed to continue listing? I know, a lot of fine lines and loopholes folks but it's time to "put on our thinking caps" as it were. Who's really good in "legalise"? clembo
