Three grades, one 1832 capped half. GTG

This is a tough one. And cleaned to boot. Xf45. Might go au 50. How can it not be polished

Wow, I have no idea how anyone can come up with this tidbit...could it be , , envy, insecurity?

Anyone who has been on CT for awhile can attest that this is nonsense and I admit my errors here when pointed out.

Perhaps you did not read my posts earlier in this discussion.

THAT COIN WAS OVERGRADED and I said so. Note my grades and the good reasons for any of the other grades posted. Grading is subjective and the knowledge, eyesight, magnification, skill, and experience of the grader make it so. Please make sure to read the end of this post which may have saved you the trouble of throwing a rock.

Insider, posted previously: "This is a coin that can be graded from AU-58 to MS-63 as well as "Details" or straight. Any one who says AU is correct as there is loss of luster (different color) from rub on the high points. It is NOT XF. Anyone who says MS is a liberal commercial grader or dealer BECAUSE this coin should bring MS money. If it were sold as AU you would leave money on the table. So MS-62 is a great guess - a technical AU worth MS money so TPGS = MS-62.

Now. The coin is 100% not original. It is NOT polished. I see hairlines but nothing major. It is a coin I would not even look at because it is an "across the room "technical" AU. Now the TPGS needs to show why we use them. They need to be fair to the coin, the customer, and the next owner... no telling how knowledgeable either owner/buyer are. So the TPGS must set a value on the coin by the grade they assign.

It is my guess that ICG and PCGS graded it MS and NGC graded it AU. There is a very good chance that each TPGS detailed it.

Note that I asked the OP to send me the number on the label so I can check it out. I believe in "trust" but verify. I do know for sure that I never graded that coin MS-64.

I’d do the paper envelope route for awhile and send back looking for a straight grade
