    Hello

What do you think about these 2 coins? What result can be expected from NGC?
    Thank you for your help.

If hoping for straight grades, not very well... I fear. The first simply isn't worth it either way, while the second deserves, without question, to be detailed.

Now this forces the question of if you understand the benefits of submitting coins and/or what makes a coin a candidate for it? Instead of again writing out my go-to response, I'll respectfully await your answer before doing so.

Harshly cleaned on both. Problem coin slab in other words.

I am always surprised or disappointed when I take pictures of coins. My eyes tell me at the Quarter - hope for MS - there are many reflective surfaces and no scratches to see. After the photo, I usually give up the hope ;-(. They seem to confirm it, but I will send them in for my collection. What a coin predicts must believe everyone decides for themselves - rarity, good preservation or just for the Collection I just like to rate them ...

Your choice of course, but you will be in effect flushing a $100 down the toilet - for nothing. And that is likely more than the 2 coins combined are worth.

You can buy slab type holders for those 2 coins for less than $10 total, and that will protect them every bit as well as a TPG slab will. And it will put those 2 coins in holders very similar to any TPG slab you have your other coins - so they will "look" much the same as the rest of your coins. And there is no reason at all to even suspect they are counterfeit, so no authentication is necessary.

But like I said, your choice.

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

That Columbian brings up a point - I see many nicer 1893's than nice 1892's, by raw numbers AND by proportion. Is that normal? Seems odd to me that more 1892's would get "hogged up" than 1893's.

If Amos (CoinWorld) still sells their "standard" (old ANACS-style) holder, they're just top of a buck per and come in packs of three. They're very well made and much nicer than their so-called "premier" (or premium?) line. If one simply wants a slab-like holder, they don't come much better, especially for the price.

Both coins have been extremely harshly cleaned. Do NOT send these in for grading unless you like wasting money.

Have you even read what the others said? Why would you submit common and harshly cleaned coins to NGC for grading?

To be fair, he did state his belief that everyone must decide for themselves. Short the possibility he may truly enjoy and/or learn something from it, sometimes folks just need to learn the hard way.

Sure, he can decide... at least thanks to folks like him, NGC Europe stays in business :-D

Ja, es ist meins. Warum fragst du?
Danke an alle für den guten Rat. Ich werde ihnen zuhören und nach besser erhaltenen Münzen suchen und sie nicht einsenden.
