Backside of the penny normal but in the face of it is silver or is that just the zinc

    Welcome to CT!!

    Interesting coin.

Not sure about the color of the obverse, but what caught my eye is the flat side. This could be an error or just PMD. We would need clear photos of the edge on that side.

Also from the orientation of the flat side in both your photos it looks like you might have a rotated die error. Or is it just my tired eyes playing tricks on me?

I would like to know what @paddyman98 thinks of this one.

Looks like the Obverse side was spray painted.

The coin was laid face down in a puddle of acid to corrode away the copper plating to the zinc core on the front only.

Looks like someone spray painted this coin like paddyman suggested, but I think it had plating blisters before it was panted and one cracked at the 3 o'clock. Looks like 2 more at the 7 and 8 o'clock. Your pics are alittle blured but that's what I see.

All I see is fingertips obscuring part of the coin...?
